Jewellery by Rose Cecil

Almost Perfect Jewellery is created by artist Rose Cecil. For many years Rose worked mainly as a painter and sculptor, whose pieces were latterly concerned with  the human relationship with the natural world. Her work contrasts the man-made and natural, the discarded and precious. Rose s jewellery follows these ideas, but working in a different medium. It is an opportunity to be creative with extraordinarily beautiful and interesting materials. The starting point for a piece may be a found texture or simply the beauty of a string of pearls.

For 2011 Rose has added rings and cuffs in pewter, copper and bronze to the brass and silver collections. Each of the new rings and cuffs will be available in different metals so that people can build a collection of pieces, the same in design but different in colour and  medium. For instance, you could wear a simple twist cuff in pewter, brass, and bronze.

There are still a few remaining pieces of the Autumn / Winter 2010 Collection which focused on leaves and twists in silver and brass. There are leaf cuffs and pendants and twisted and plaited silver rings and cuffs.

The Bespoke selection includes some beautiful freshwater pearls and some exciting new styles of necklace using semi-precious stones and other unusual and interesting materials.

We had five wonderful, inspiring years in Mousehole and Almost Perfect was born there.

This year we are not going on one of our adventures, we are moving house instead. We are not leaving Cornwall for ever, but we are re-locating to Dorset for the forseeable future. Wish us luck with our move and come and visit the new studio. Once we are established and up and running, I will post our address and contact details.

    Rose sells through craft shops, galleries and craft fairs, both locally and nationally.
