ABOUT ALMOST PERFECT

THE SEA IS NEVER FAR AWAY IN CORNWALL and jewellery from ALMOST PERFECT carries an echo of it's creative home in the little Cornish fishing village of Mousehole, where the sea meets the land..

Almost Perfect Jewellery is created by artist Rose Cecil. Rose's sculpture is often concerned with our human relationship with the natural world; her work contrasts the man-made and natural, the discarded and precious. Rose's jewellery follows these ideas, but working in a different medium. It is an opportunity to be creative with extraordinarily beautiful and interesting materials. The starting point for a piece may be a found texture or simply the beauty of a string of pearls.

Many of the pieces include a small bit of CORNWALL; slate from the beach, reclaimed fishing net or shell fragments. These are small works of wearable art, enhancing the natural beauty of locally sourced materials and complemented by silver and other precious materials. They enable the wearer to share the magic of Cornwall.

In the summer of 2008 Rose went to TONGA, (not far from Fiji and venue for last year's most desirable event, the King of Tonga’s coronation) From this trip she created extraordinary shell and coral inspired cast silver rings, pendants, chains and cuffs.

The 2009 COLLECTION features shell and coral based work cast in silver from Tonga and massive rocks and delicious stones in pieces inspired by the beaches of West Penwith.
Special commissions or enquiries are welcome. Contact Rose to discuss your requirements and ideas. Jewellery is very personal and needs time for consideration and commitment. At Almost Perfect that is part of the service.

Rose sells through craft shops, galleries and craft fairs, both locally and nationally. Appointments can also be made to make a personal visit to the studio in Mousehole.
