Almost Perfect Jewellery reflects its provenance and the working style of its sculptor creator, Rose Cecil. Many of the pieces include a small bit of Cornwall; slate from the beach, reclaimed fishing net or shell fragments. contrasting the manmade and the natural, the discarded and the precious, to make pieces that are not replicable, in the same way as key Almost Perfect materials, slate and fishing net, are never the same. These are small works of art, enhancing the natural beauty of locally sourced materials and complemented by silver and other precious materials to enable the wearer to share the magic and be a part of the spell that Cornwall casts to enchant her visitors.
In West Cornwall the sea is never far away and these pieces are a reminder of where the sea meets the land.
The 2008 collection features massive rocks and delicious stones in pieces inspired by the beaches of West Penwith. This is the year to walk out in a piece of wearable art.

About Rose Cecil
Rose uses her background as an artist to inform her jewellery work. She has exhibited her paintings and sculptures widely both in the UK and abroad. She is now a member of the Newlyn Society of Artists. For many years, before settling in Mousehole, Cornwall, she made artistic expeditions to destinations as various as Tibet and the South Seas to gather material for exhibitions and commissions. This experience means that the jewellery pieces are seen as an extension of her artwork and are the reason for their sculptural appearance and tactile appeal.
